Our relationships are unique just like we are. They form an important part of our lives. As we form our relationships in our unique way, our relationships also shape us (in particular, our early relationships). When we have difficulties in our close relationships, this can be extremely stressful and we might find ourselves confused, helpless and lost. Counselling can help you to find a way forward.
The most important step in resolving relationship issues is having good conversations. Exploring your own processes in a safe place has a number of advantages. For instance, you may recognise some of the repeated patterns in your relationships. You may discover that some of the relational dynamics are familiar to you and remind you of your earlier relationships. As you gain awareness of yourself and your relational style, you might re-evaluate your expectations from relationships, make autonomous choices and communicate them clearly.
